Our Mission and Focus
Why It Matters
Growing up in Kamwokya, our founder witnessed firsthand how lack of maternal healthcare and economic opportunity can threaten lives, especially without national health coverage. Thank You Mama promotes women’s health, equality, and financial independence through education and outreach.
Our mission goes beyond simply offering basic necessities and health education. We are deeply committed to empowering women by equipping them with the tools and knowledge they need to become financially independent—so they can raise their children without the burden of poverty. We recognize the unique and often difficult realities faced by mothers living in Uganda’s slums and rural villages, and we understand that not all women have access to the same opportunities or support.
Through the proceeds raised from Thank You Mama, we actively give back to these incredible women by:
Supporting Vulnerable Mothers
We conduct outreach visits to less privileged mothers, providing them with essential items such as food, clothing, and basic toiletries. Following our first-ever event, we hand-delivered care packages to mothers in Kamwokya (a slum in Kampala) and at Sanyu Babies Home orphanage. These gifts were our way of honouring and thanking them for the incredible love and resilience they show every day.Helping Children with Disabilities
A portion of our proceeds goes toward supporting children born with disabilities or medical conditions, ensuring they receive the care and dignity they deserve.Promoting the Value of Motherhood
We aim to inspire and encourage more women to embrace motherhood as a divine blessing. By offering support, education, and community, we hope to reduce the incidence of abortions and the abandonment of babies.Celebrating and Honouring Mothers
